From research on "High-harmonic generation from solids" to becoming a machine learning specialist - this is the exciting career path Nicolai Klemke, alumnus of the Max Planck School of Photonics, has taken. In our alumni interview, he tells us how it came about, what the biggest challenge during his PhD was and why you should always be prepared to need a little more time for your research than you or your supervisor schedule.

Nicolai's most important advice for a successful PhD? Try to identify as early as possible the topic in which you can produce and publish interesting results, and then stick to it! But hear more for yourself in our alumni interview with him.
